Eastern Kentucky University student Brandy Neelly never made it to the American Idol stage to sing for her future on the show Tuesday night.
The Louisville native was one of five singers not chosen to go on in the 13th season of Idol after a “rush week” of rehearsals and workshops to determine a Top 10 female singers out of 15 hopefuls. The males will be chosen Wednesday night and viewers will pare down to a final field of 12 Thursday night.
Neelly was the only Kentuckian to make it through to the Idol Top 30 after four Kentuckians made it to the show’s Hollywood week after the initial rounds of auditions.
The North Oldham High School graduate was taking her fourth shot at American Idol. She started her Freshman year at EKU last fall. Neelly is fairly active on Twitter, and after the show she tweeted, “We can’t all be winners but I’m gonna keep fighting to be one! :)”
